Welcome to the hackathon dedicated to improving the lives of Jordanians, hosted by JoPACC

As the digital economy unfolds, it’s increasingly clear that a wide range of participants will be required to work together to deliver the efficiency, resilience, adaptability and accessibility that’s required for a world class payments system. With this in mind, hackathons provide an excellent opportunity for participants to come together and JoPACC is pleased to stage this event, supporting industry wide cooperation.

On behalf of JoPACC I’d like to thank you for the time you are dedicating to this hackathon.

Enjoy the weekend!

Challenges

The Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) form more than 95% of business in Jordan and hugely support economic growth with a 40% contribution to the GDP. That said, access to different financial services continues to be one of the most significant challenges for creating, surviving, and growing MSMEs, especially new innovative ones. For example, most MSMEs face difficulties accessing credit in Jordan due to the lack of documentation, financial management skills, and advanced credit-scoring tools, making them less attractive to lenders.
The hackathon targets solutions and ideas that fall under any of the following themes/challenges to increase the digital financial inclusion of MSMEs in Jordan:
01
Risk management & mitigation
Innovative risk management and mitigation approaches for MSMEs financing and access to financial services.
02
Process management & enhancement
Innovative process management and optimization to reduce costs and enhance efficiency when interacting with MSMEs.
03
Credit data & scoring
Innovative credit data and scoring models to invigorate MSMEs' access to finance in Jordan.
04
Innovative products & services
Innovative products and services to support MSMEs financing and access to financial services to increase financial inclusion
05
Women-led/owned MSMEs products & services
Innovative products and services to support the needs of women-led/owned MSMEs,
